We are one of the oldest Saddlery businesses in the country, established by Joan Calcutt over 60 years ago. We have built up a reputation for our expert and friendly advice and can generally meet all requirements for Hunting, Hacking, Eventing, Polo and Showing.
We were awarded the Countryside Alliance - Best Traditional Rural Business in the South for 2009.
Our workshops make and repair any form of leatherwork, saddles, boots and clippers. We have a limited tailoring service and we provide a saddle fitting service.
Henry Keat, our associate business, makes and repairs Handmade Hunting Horns.
Our reputation has spread Worldwide and no destination or order is beyond our capabilities.
Hunting
We are one of the last traditional Hunting Specialists, with a stock of secondhand and new Hunting Attire.
We offer a bespoke service for Hunt Coats in Black, Navy, Scarlet and Green. Beagle Jackets and Evening Tails Coats. We can also add collars and buttons. Please email calcutts@msn.com for a simple self measuring form.
All hunt buttons supplied individually.
We stock new and secondhand leather boots and can add mahogany, champagne or patent tops. All repairs and alterations including widening, extending and new zips are carried out in our workshop.
We also stock traditional cut cream and beige breeches,bedford cord breeches, hunting ties, gloves, hats and whips, in fact everything you will need for a great days hunting.
Our workshop also produces leather cases for hunting horns, beagle pouches, wire cutters and hunting flasks.
Services
Full repair service in our own workshops for saddles, bridlework, boots (tops, patching, extending, zips, resoling and heeling), rugs (cleaning and repairing), motorcycle leathers (patching and new zips) and all leatherwork including guncases, suitcases, zips in gunsleeves and leather clothing.
Special leatherwork orders undertaken, including made to measure chaps and half chaps.
Worldwide postal service.
Large stock of secondhand saddles, bridle-work, clothing, boots, bits etc.
